BIM& GIS Implementation for AEC industry

The Surveying process was traditionally done through manual surveying using tools such as a theodolite, transit, and GPS. Surveying has evolved over time with technological advances in GPS technology, aerial photography, satellite imagery, and laser scanning technology (e.g., LIDAR). With the advancement of technology, surveying is now done with a combination of GIS and BIM technologies. BIM is also being used as it helps in creating a 3D model that has accurate information about the land and its topography, this includes spatial relationships between objects as they exist.

BIM - Building Information Modelling, is a process of making computer-generated models of buildings and structures. 3D Revit model is an extension of the BIM technology. BIM is a computer-aided design (CAD) system that supports all types of building projects - from residential houses to office buildings and BIM objects in infrastructure.

ArcGIS GeoBIM helps in enabling capabilities to link Survey (CAD drawings, As- built drawings like i.e. Cadastral Survey drawings, Topographic Survey documents, Property information documents and Land Records (documents, records).
GeoBIM technology saves a lot of time for civil engineers in their project planning and execution. With the help of BIM, they can create more detailed models and plans, thus saving more cost and time in development phases

MicroCenter conduct the training for GeoBIM Application and Technology Certification Programme

(This training programme aims to demonstrate how the integration of GIS and BIM technologies – also known as GeoBIM – can be applied throughout the key stages of a building’s lifecycle: Design, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance)
